lThe San Francisco 49ers announced today that they have released fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Additionally, the team has extended defensive lineman Kevin Givens’ contract for another year through the 2025 season and offered a one-year tender to restricted free-agent running back Jordan Mason.
Juszczyk, a 6-foot-1, 235-pound fullback, was originally selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round (130th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft before joining the 49ers as a free agent in 2017. Over his career, he has played in 189 games (142 starts), recording 67 rushing attempts for 237 yards and six touchdowns while also contributing 281 receptions for 2,664 yards and 18 touchdowns. In the postseason, he appeared in 14 games (13 starts), adding six carries for 27 yards and 16 receptions for 169 yards and a touchdown. In 2017, he was honored with the Bill Walsh Award for exemplifying the team’s standard of professional excellence.

During the 2024 season, Juszczyk played in 17 games (15 starts), tallying five carries for 26 yards and a touchdown, along with 19 receptions for 200 yards and two touchdowns. He earned his ninth consecutive Pro Bowl selection (2017-25) and eighth straight as a member of the 49ers. A native of Medina, Ohio, the 33-year-old played college football at Harvard (2009-12), where he recorded 125 receptions for 1,576 yards (12.6 avg) and 22 touchdowns, earning First-Team All-America honors in 2012 and Second-Team recognition in 2011.
Givens, a 6-foot-1, 285-pound defensive lineman, signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. Over six seasons, he has played in 65 games (14 starts), recording 91 tackles, 8.0 sacks, three passes defensed, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble. He has also played in nine postseason games, contributing 12 tackles and one pass defensed. In 2024, Givens appeared in eight games (one start) and set a career high with 3.5 sacks while adding 11 tackles.
The 28-year-old Newark, New Jersey, native played at Penn State, where he appeared in 39 games (22 starts) and totaled 82 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 13.0 sacks, four passes defensed, three fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble.

Mason, a 5-foot-11, 223-pound running back, signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In three seasons with San Francisco, he has played in 45 games (six starts), rushing 236 times for 1,253 yards and seven touchdowns while also recording 14 receptions for 122 yards. In six playoff appearances, he logged two carries for 12 yards.
In 2024, Mason played in 12 games (six starts), setting career highs with 153 carries for 789 yards and three touchdowns, along with 11 receptions for 91 yards. The 25-year-old, originally from Gallatin, Tennessee, played at Georgia Tech (2017-21), where he appeared in 43 games (20 starts), accumulating 2,349 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 449 carries while adding 25 receptions for 202 yards and one touchdown.
