It goes without saying that Real Madrid and Barcelona are two European superclubs. Throughout the years, both La Liga sides have seen some truly incredible players come through their ranks and signed from abroad. To this day, they still have incredible pull power for the world’s top talents.

Real Madrid and Barcelona transfer target will cost €150m
According to a report from Radio Marca (via BBC Sport), Barcelona and Real Madrid are expected to target the same Bundesliga transfer this summer. They share a keen interest in signing Florian Wirtz from the Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, led by Real Madrid legend and their potential future manager, Xabi Alonso.
It is reported that Bayer Leverkusen would be expecting a transfer fee of €150m if they are to part ways with Florian Wirtz this summer. This is understandable, given Wirtz is a key member of their team and he has developed into a world-class option under Xabi Alonso this summer. If Real Madrid or Barcelona want to sign him, they will have to splash the cash.
Needless to say, Real Madrid now have the advantage, if this asking price is to be taken into consideration. After all, it has been widely reported that Barcelona are in a horrid financial situation so for them to splash €150m on one player amid all the reports will only continue to raise eyebrows. Their limited resources are better spent elsewhere.
Of course, Real Madrid have other huge transfer plans this summer. Endrick has already confirmed the move and Kylian Mbappe is expected to sign on a free transfer, but he will eat away at valuable wage resources. Other Real Madrid transfer targets include Alphonso Davies and Reece James.
I guess it will boil down to the question – Is Florian Wirtz worth €150m? The answer is an astounding yes. As mentioned, he is a world-class player who is still young (20). He has scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen in their incredible season, which sees them unbeaten in domestic league matches and having already won the Bundesliga.
