- Leicester City update as Louis Page signs long-term deal and emerges as the latest academy talent to break into the first team at King Power Stadium

Leicester City have announced that promising midfielder Louis Page has signed his first professional contract with the club, committing his long-term future to the Foxes.
The 17-year-old caught the eye during pre-season after excelling with the Under-18s last year. Manager Marti Cifuentes rewarded him with a Carabao Cup debut before handing him two league starts.
Although he has missed the last two fixtures against Oxford United and Coventry City, Cifuentes has made it clear that Page will remain a central figure in his plans this season.
Confirmation of the new deal came on Monday, just days after Luke Thomas also extended his stay at the King Power Stadium.
Page follows in the footsteps of fellow youngster Jeremy Monga, who signed professional terms in the summer.
Both academy graduates have featured regularly under Cifuentes and already shown promise at senior level.
In only his second league start, Page registered an assist for Abdul Fatawu in Leicester’s 2-0 win over Birmingham City.
With Bilal El Khannouss departing the club, the teenager is now set to challenge Aaron Ramsey for a place in the advanced midfield role.
Born in Lutterworth, Page progressed from the Under-18s to the Under-21s last season and also represented England at the UEFA Under-17 European Championship in May.
His rapid development has highlighted him as one of Leicester’s brightest prospects.
Speaking about the youngster, Cifuentes expressed confidence in his talent and long-term importance:
“I’m a big believer in Louis. He’ll be important, I’m sure. I’ve done well with young players in my career, and hopefully I can help him grow into a very significant player for Leicester.”
With Page tied down, Leicester’s emphasis on nurturing homegrown talent looks set to play a vital role in the club’s future success.
