Latest Derby County news from DerbyshireLive brings you what is being said about Carlton Morris who inching closer to a move to Pride Park

Carlton Morris is expected to seal his move to Derby County once he returns from holiday as the Rams make a breakthrough in their quest for a new striker.

A fee has been agreed with the Hatters for the Luton captain, who has one year remaining on his deal at Kenilworth Road.

The 29-year-old is expected to have his medical this week before putting the finishing touches to the deal as Derby kickstart their summer business.

Blackburn duo Andi Weimann and Danny Batth are also expected to seal moves to the club and the duo will provide quality competition in attack and defence respectively.

Morris fired Luton to the Premier League two seasons ago and scored 20 goals in all competitions as they won the play-off final against Coventry City.

He then followed it up with 11 goals in the Premier League although the Hatters were relegated at the end of the campaign under Rob Edwards.

However, Morris could not prevent Luton from slipping into League One as they suffered back-to-back relegations.

But he is still revered by Luton fans for what he achieved with the club as they responded to news of a switch to Derby on social media.

InTomLockyerWeTrust: “Carlton Morris always gave 110 per cent in a Luton Town shirt and one bad season doesn’t erase everything he did for us. If you’re slating him, have a word with yourself. If he does join Derby, he goes with every bit of love possible from me for what he did.”
