Odsonne Edouard has taken to social media ahead of this weekend’s massive Player of the Year event at the Glasgow Hydro.
The Frenchman surprisingly took up the offer to present an award during the event and will once again take a bow in front of the Celtic crowd he once entertained on the field.
Affectionately nicknamed ‘French Eddy’ by the Celtic support, the striker was responsible for some big moments during Celtic’s four consecutive trebles. Signed under Brendan Rodgers during the Irishman’s first spell in charge, Edouard remains Celtic’s largest transfer buy at £9m from PSG.
Now at Crystal Palace, the frontman will take a trip back up north to return to the club were he enjoyed so much success.
Tweeting ahead of Sunday’s event the Frenchman wrote: ‘Honored to be present with these legends’, quote tweeting the post from Celtic that announced he, Neil Lennon and Samaras would be presenting awards at the ceremony.
Usually, the POTY awards is a closed-door affair with only fans with the right contacts and privileges getting to go yearly. However, it has been opened up to the wider Celtic fan base. The club bringing legends and present players together in a big way.
We will be covering the Player of the Year awards on the night.
