Kylian Mbappé will officially join Real Madrid when his contract expires with Paris Saint-Germain. Nonetheless, one of the questions surrounding his arrival is over is where will the Frenchman play when he takes the pitch.
Mbappé prefers playing out on the wing, but Vinicius Junior currently fills that role. The 25-year-old will likely have to play the No. 9 role for the Spanish giants, but the soon-to-be will impact where Jude Bellingham plays next season.
According to MARCA, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to play Bellingham in a deeper midfield position next season when Mbappé joins.
The next question is also when the La Liga side will officially present the player. MARCA’s José Félix Díaz recently reported that Real Madrid is considering potential dates to introduce Mbappé at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Madrid are considering a timeframe from June 3 to 9, but they’re waiting on PSG’s approval. It looks like they’re planning to sort it out before the 2024 Euros instead of afterward.
Given that the player will still be officially contracted with PSG until July 1, it’s logical that Los Blancos need permission from the Ligue 1 side to proceed with this rumored plan.
