Real Madrid will play their penultimate fixture of the 2023/24 La Liga season this Sunday when they face Villarreal away at Estadio de la Ceramica.
It will be a good way for Los Blancos to prepare themselves for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund which will take place in two weeks.
As such, it will be interesting to see whether Carlo Ancelotti opts to field his strongest side or rotates his troops for tomorrow’s clash against the Yellow Submarine, with the squad list now being announced.
Two players – David Alaba and Aurelien Tchouameni – miss out through injuries, although there is hope that the latter could recover in time for the UCL final.
Young midfielder Mario Martin gets a call-up to the senior setup in Tchouameni’s absence to provide cover in the defensive midfield position.
There are no other surprise call-ups nor is there any other player absent from the squad.
Ancelotti has already revealed one of his starters against Villarreal, with Andriy Lunin set to get the nod in goal ahead of Thibaut Courtois.
