After defeating J.J. Wolf in the first round of the French Open with ease, Carlos Alcaraz claims his damaged forearm is getting “better and better”.

Due to a muscle strain, the 21-year-old had to withdraw from the Monte Carlo Masters in April and didn’t have any match preparation before traveling to Paris.

Nevertheless, he only lost four games as he defeated American lucky loser Wolf 6-1, 6-2, and 6-1.

The Wimbledon winner Alcaraz stated after the match, “I think I showed my best tennis today,” despite wearing a compression sleeve on his arm during the match.

“I tried everything I could do to be here at 100%.”

Alcaraz of Spain won in an hour and fifty-one minutes, using ground strokes that were almost at their peak.

In an attempt to improve on his semi-final performance from the previous year, he smashed 27 winners to just 16 unforced errors and recorded five aces.

Alcaraz stated, “I don’t need too many matches to get to 100%, but I would have loved to have played more.”

“Over the past two weeks, I prepared exceptionally well and worked out with elite athletes. My forearm is improving steadily.

Alcaraz will compete in a qualifying. Jesper de Jong in the second round, following the Dutchman’s five-set upset against Jack Draper of Britain.
