Comments laid out by Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. have turned heads across the Spanish football landscape on Monday.
As much comes after the Brazilian made use of the opportunity to send something of a message to Paris Saint-Germain counterpart Kylian Mbappé.
It is of course common knowledge that frontman Mbappé is all set to take his talents to Madrid this summer.
After coming to the decision to allow the terms of his contract with PSG to come to a close, the 25-year-old has since been locked in discussions with the Real brass, over the terms of a free transfer.
A definitive agreement is understood to be all but in place between the parties, with a view to a joining of forces for next season.
And yet, to date, no official confirmation of any kind has been forthcoming.
Speaking to the media on Monday afternoon, the subject of Mbappé potentially joining him in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad was in turn put to the aforementioned Vinícius Jr.
And, after first shifting the focus onto Florentino Pérez, wide-man Vini went on to reveal his hope that Mbappé’s plans beyond the summer will be announced ‘soon’, with the 23-year-old eager to ‘play with the best’:
“Kylian Mbappé? That depends on the president who signs them all. I hope he can decide on his future soon. I always want to play with the best.”
