Leigh Leopards Bolster Squad with Signing of Castleford Tigers Winger Innes Senior

Leigh Leopards have secured the services of Ireland international winger Innes Senior on a two-year deal from Castleford Tigers, marking an exciting addition to their squad for the 2026 season. The 25-year-old, who was released from the final year of his contract with Castleford, brings a wealth of try-scoring prowess and dynamic play to the Leopards.

Senior, whose twin brother Louis remains with Castleford, has an impressive record, having notched 24 tries in 45 appearances for the Tigers, contributing to a career total of 62 tries. His departure from Castleford coincides with a swap of sorts, as winger Darnell McIntosh moves in the opposite direction, joining the Tigers on a two-year deal.

Leigh head coach Adrian Lam expressed his enthusiasm for the signing, highlighting Senior’s unique abilities. “I have been a big fan of Innes over the years,” Lam said. “He has the X-factor about him and he can break tackles at will when he is playing confidently and at the top of his game. His genuine speed is certainly an asset that we welcome into our squad, and his ability to score tries and long-range tries is what we are all looking forward to. He has great size, he competes well, and he is a player that we are excited to watch develop further within our system.”

Senior himself is eager to seize the opportunity at Leigh. “It’s a massive opportunity for me, and I’m ready to take it,” he said, signaling his determination to make an impact with his new club.

The signing of Senior marks Leigh Leopards’ third acquisition for the 2026 season, following the arrivals of Jacob Alick-Weincke from the Gold Coast Titans and St Helens youngster Oliver Polec. With these additions, the Leopards are building a formidable squad, blending experience, youth, and flair as they aim to compete at the highest level.
