Inter head coach Simeone Inzaghi has hailed Arsenal as one of the best teams he’s seen in the Champions League this season following his side’s 1-0 win at San Siro on Wednesday evening.
Mikel Arteta’s side were beaten in Milan as Hakan Calhanoglu’s first-half penalty sealed the victory for the Serie A champions.
Arsenal dominated the second half but were unable to find the breakthrough against a stubborn Inter defence with centre-back Yann Bisseck delivering one of the standout performances of the match.
The defeat leaves Arsenal 12th in the Champions League table, two points behind an automatic place in the knockout round, while Inter, who are yet to concede in the competition this season, are fifth with 10 points from four games and remain unbeaten.
- ‘It’s a very important victory, desired, hard-fought, against a very strong team that created difficulties for us, especially on set pieces,’ Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia after his side’s win.
