Nick Kyrgios accused Iga Świątek and Jannik Sinner of playing the “victim” in the doping case

Nick Kyrgios has continued to express his disapproval of Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek since it was announced that they tested positive in a doping test this year. The Australian star has been quite vocal in his criticism which has continued to go viral on social media. Recently, he took a dig at the two top players while conversing on the Nothing Major podcast.

In August, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced that Sinner tested twice positive for clostebol in March. It also reported that after further investigation, they found no significant negligence on the Italian star’s part. However, they only stripped Sinner of his Indian Wells Masters ranking points and prize money.

While the storm about Sinner’s doping case were still settling, the ITIA revealed that Swiatek had tested positive for trimetazidine before the Cincinnati Open. Swiatek defended that the banned substance contaminated her melatonin medication. The Polish star was, however, handed a one-month suspension.

Nonetheless, these two cases have opened the floodgates of criticism of the two top players. However, with some players coming to their defense, Kyrgios has always criticized them. Recently, he took a dig at the pair while in a conversation with Jack SockSam Querrey, and Steve Johnson on their podcast.

I haven’t failed any drug tests. Once you get caught, you can’t act like the victim.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has appealed Sinner’s doping case to Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). The body is demanding that the Italian should be banned for at least two years. The hearing will begin next year which is set to determine Sinner’s fate.
