Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, has made his first public statement in two weeks in the wake of the contentious incident against Arsenal.
Erling Haaland, the striker for Manchester City, has finally responded to the controversy surrounding his antics during the intense 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. Ian Wright, a legend of the Arsenal, called him a “coward” and expressed his disapproval of his behaviour. The incident in question happened when Haaland flung the ball at Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes’ head during injury time, after City had levelled. After Haaland’s early goal, Arsenal had taken the lead through goals from Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori.

Even though Haaland’s actions were captured on camera by Sky Sports, they went unnoticed until Ian Wright expressed his annoyance on social media almost a day later. Wright attacked Haaland in a video that went viral, saying, “Haaland’s cowardly move was the one thing that boiled me up properly.” I got a clear view of it this morning. When Gabi isn’t looking, throwing the ball at his head is a very cowardly move.
