The aroma of NFL Draft season is in the air, and the Los Angeles Rams will be on the clock in the blink of an eye.
Despite the swirling trade rumors surrounding Matthew Stafford, it’s likely that the future Hall of Fame-winning quarterback will remain in Los Angeles. Nonetheless, Stafford’s window of peak performance is narrowing, and the Rams are looking to maximize their championship window.
In an attempt to do so, one NFL mock draft has the Rams adding an electrifying playmaker to the roster. According to Pro Football Network , Los Angeles will use their 26th overall pick in the first round on Stanford wide receiver Elic Ayomanor.
As a Cardinal, Ayomanor amassed 831 receiving yards on 63 catches and found the end zone six times in 2024. Although his production dipped compared to his 1,000-yard season the year prior—largely due to Stanford’s run-first offensive approach—Ayomanor has the ability to be an absolute beast in a Sean McVay offense. Blessed with a solid 6’2″, 210-pound frame, he would give Matthew Stafford a reliable target in the passing game.
With the expected trade or release of All-Pro wideout Cooper Kupp any day now, it seems likely the Rams will want to upgrade their pass-catching room in a major way.
As it stands, the Rams do not possess a second-round pick in this year’s draft, making the importance of selecting the right player at 26 a top priority. Don’t be surprised if the Rams fall in love with Ayomanor on draft day.
