Micah Parson’s Possible Departure: Cowboys’ Star LB Might Be Leaving Dallas to a Rival Team

Micah Parsons once again is a key story for another Dallas Cowboys offseason. The Dallas Cowboys pass rusher has put in the time and effort to develop his craft and deploy it on his rivals.

However, Parsons also has entertained leaving one day, making it clear that if his personal goals are not met, he will pursue them elsewhere. Of course, the timing of all of this comes as the pass rusher heads into the last year of his deal.

After the 2025 season concludes, Parsons will no longer be a member of the biggest rival to the Philadelphia Eagles. With Nick Sirianni’s team blowing out Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LIX, they’ve raised the bar in the NFC East. If Parsons’ team can’t keep up and refuses to pay top dollar, the pass rusher has every reason to go anywhere else, including an arch-rival.

Kay Adams on Micah Parsons

Speaking on a February 26 edition of “Up and Adams,” NFL expert Kay Adams suggested that Parsons could join Dan Quinn’s team: the Washington Commanders.

“So if Dallas does not get Micah his extension, Micah, who has lots of reverence for Jerry Jones, but knows it’s a business.

“Between Jayden and his connection with Dan Quinn, just watch out,” she said.

Parsons has earned at least 12 sacks per season every year since he joined the league. The Commanders could use those numbers on their side.

Jerry Jones can save money by paying Micah Parsons

Of course, Jerry Jones has two paths to take to avoid this happening.

One path would be to pay Parsons upfront with a salary he’d be foolish to turn down. The other path would be to put together a team that eviscerates the NFC East to a point where Parsons would be foolish to leave in pursuit of money before experiencing what comes next.

Jerry Jones would, of course, need to most likely pay an extra arm and a leg to put such a team together, so his cheapest and most effective solution would actually be to pay Parsons before he looks too long at other options. Losing Parsons to the Commanders would go down like the Giants losing Saquon Barkley to the Eagles. The Giants may never live that down.
