Latest Myles Garrett update provides a glimmer of hope for the Colts..
Cleveland Browns v Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts would love to have a player of Myles Garrett’s caliber. Every team in the NFL would, for that matter. That’s why the Colts (and the other teams in the league who aren’t the Cleveland Browns) are psyched at the latest report from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.
The report is that Garrett is ‘not open to’ a contract extension with the team that drafted him, opening the doors up to a trade. Chris Ballard and the Colts, like all GMs of the other non-Browns teams, are going to be interested in adding the former first overall pick.

Garrett has previously said that he wants to join a Super Bowl-contending team and it’s not hard to argue that the Colts aren’t in that category. That being said, we see all the time when players say they want to go to a contender and then are swayed to a non-contender due to them willing to pay the price and bring said player in. Perhaps this situation could end up like that.
After all, the Colts aren’t totally hopeless and Garrett would be a huge piece for them. They’d have a realistic shot of winning the AFC South with Garrett in the blue and white and that’s step one in the quest toward a Super Bowl appearance.

Latest Myles Garrett news is music to Colts fans’ ears
The first step in acquiring Garrett is what’s going on now — him wanting out of his current situation. Garrett has made himself perfectly clear in what he wants moving forward and it’s not to be with the Browns anymore.
While the Colts are going to have their work cut out for them in bringing in a heavy hitter like Garrett, they have the means to do so. They have the 14th pick in the draft and have roughly $34 million in salary cap space to work with.

It’s easy to look at the state of the Colts right now and rule them out as a landing spot for Garrett but crazier things have happened in this league. Ballard knows his job is on the line if the team continues to disappoint this year so if he were to swing for the fences and show he’s serious about getting th Colts in playoff position, it could be a job-saving move.
