Loan Watch: Two goals in two games for Vieira

Fabio Vieira scored twice for FC Porto last week to make it four attacking returns in his last four matches.

He scored the opening goal of Monday’s 1-1 draw at home to Vitoria SC, cutting back from the right of the 18-yard box and curling the ball into the far corner.

Vieira then got the second goal in Saturday’s 2-0 win away to Arouca with a shot into the bottom right corner form the edge of the area.

Those four points mean Porto are third in Liga Portugal, three points behind Benfica and Sporting who both have a game in hand.

Elsewhere in Europe, Nuno Tavares came on in the 61st minute of Lazio’s 2-0 defeat away to Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Tuesday.

He also played 90 minutes of Sunday’s 2-1 win away to AC Milan to go fourth in Serie A thanks to Pedro’s 98th minute penalty.

Real Valladolid remain bottom of La Liga following Friday’s 1-1 draw at home to Las Palmas, which Karl Hein played 90 minutes of. They’re now eight points from safety.

In women’s football, Teyah Goldie played 90 minutes and Freya Godfrey came on in the 69th minute for London City Lionesses as they drew 1-1 away to Charlton Athletic on Sunday.

Equalising in the 96th minute, London City remain second in the Barclays Women’s Championship, three points behind Birmingham City and with a game in hand.
