It is with a heavy heart and deep reflection that I submit my resignation as the Manager of the Baltimore Orioles, effective immediately. This decision comes after much thought and consideration, and while it was not an easy one to make, I believe it is the right step for both myself and the organization at this juncture.
When I first joined the Orioles, I did so with a clear vision of fostering a culture of resilience, commitment, and continuous improvement. I have poured my heart and soul into this team, and it has been a true honor to work with such a talented group of athletes and a remarkable staff. Over the past seasons, we’ve faced numerous challenges, but I’ve always believed that the strength of a team lies in its ability to overcome adversity, grow from its experiences, and push forward with relentless dedication.
Throughout my tenure, I’ve witnessed the development of some incredible young players who have shown great potential for the future of this franchise. It has been a privilege to guide these athletes and watch them grow both on and off the field. I firmly believe that the Orioles are on the cusp of something special, and the future is incredibly bright for the organization. I am confident that the foundation we’ve laid will continue to yield success for years to come.
That said, the demands of this role, combined with the need for fresh perspectives and new leadership, have led me to the conclusion that stepping down as manager is the best course of action. I trust that this decision will allow the Orioles to continue their trajectory towards excellence with a renewed sense of energy and focus.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to you, the entire Orioles organization, and the loyal fans who have supported the team through thick and thin. Your passion for the game and commitment to the team is something that I will carry with me always. Working for such an iconic franchise in one of the greatest baseball cities has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
I would also like to thank my coaching staff and all those who worked alongside me in the front office, training room, and beyond. Together, we’ve built a cohesive unit that has always strived for greatness. Your professionalism, hard work, and dedication are what made the job so fulfilling every single day.
While I am stepping down from my role as manager, I will forever remain a supporter of the Baltimore Orioles. I have no doubt that the team will continue to grow, thrive, and succeed in the years to come. The future of this organization is bright, and I look forward to watching its continued progress from the sidelines.
