Tottenham ‘Make Contact’ to Sign £200 000-a-Week Champions League Star
Tottenham Hotspur have asked Atletico Madrid to be kept informed of Conor Gallagher’s situation ahead of the January transfer window, according to TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey.
Thomas Frank has made an exceptional start to life as manager in north London with three wins from four games in the Premier League, while they also claimed a win in their opening Champions League fixture, with just one goal conceded in the process.
But the club are still eyeing opportunities to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window, and England international Gallagher has emerged as a top target.
Gallagher, who earns £200,000-a-week with the La Liga outfit, has been a bit-part player under Diego Simeone in recent times and that has led to frustration over his situation.
With the World Cup next summer, Gallagher wants to be playing regularly and it has now emerged that he will have several options to return to the Premier League in the new year should he so wish.
Spurs have made contact with Atletico Madrid to be kept informed of his situation over the coming months and have indicated that they would be willing to do a deal, although Gallagher’s priority at the moment is to become a regular for Atletico Madrid.
