Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has made his offseason wishlist clear: bring Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett to the City of Brotherly Love.
During a recent appearance on the KickinItWithDee Podcast, Brown didn’t hesitate when asked about his dream offseason addition to the Eagles’ roster. “Honestly, that’s what it be feeling like over here.
I’ll say Myles Garrett. I’ll say Myles Garrett,” Brown emphasized. “Adding him with Jalen Carter [and] Nolan Smith. You know, I don’t know what’s going to happen with Josh Sweat or Milton [Williams].”
Brown’s public recruitment comes amid swirling trade rumors following Garrett’s reported trade request from Cleveland. The four-time All-Pro defensive end has established himself as one of the NFL’s premier pass rushers, making him a coveted target for contenders like the Eagles. The Eagles, coming off their recent Super Bowl victory, appear determined to strengthen their roster for another championship run in 2025.
Pairing Garrett with emerging star Jalen Carter could create one of the most formidable defensive fronts in the NFL. During the 2024 season, Garrett recorded impressive numbers despite Cleveland’s struggles, finishing with 47 tackles, 14 sacks, and three forced fumbles while appearing in all 17 games.
Those statistics would significantly bolster Philadelphia’s already elite defense. At 29 years old, Garrett remains in his prime and could provide the Eagles with an impact player for several more seasons.
His current contract runs through 2026 with relatively manageable cap hits of $19.7 million this season and $20.4 million in 2026. Despite the obvious appeal, significant hurdles exist to completing such a blockbuster trade.
The Browns have reportedly shown reluctance to part with their defensive cornerstone despite his trade request. Additionally, any deal would likely require substantial compensation from Philadelphia, potentially including multiple first-round draft picks or premier players.
The Eagles enter the offseason with approximately $19.6 million in cap space, which could complicate negotiations.

While Brown’s public recruiting may generate excitement among Eagles fans, the practical challenges of executing such a high-profile acquisition remain considerable. Nevertheless, as the offseason progresses, Philadelphia’s connection to Garrett will be worth monitoring closely.
For now, Brown’s wishful thinking represents the latest chapter in what promises to be an intriguing saga surrounding one of the NFL’s most dominant defensive players.
