Arsenal hold formal talks to sign £30m versatile Brazilian forward as Benjamin Sesko alternative.

Arsenal have reportedly held informal talks over Botafogo striker Igor Jesus as they look to strengthen their attacking options during the January transfer window. According to Brazilian journalist Eduardo Burgos, the 23-year-old is being considered as an alternative to targets like Benjamin Šeško and Evan Ferguson.

The Gunners are struggling with a depleted frontline after Bukayo Saka was sidelined until March and Gabriel Jesus was ruled out for the season following an ACL injury. This has forced Mikel Arteta to explore versatile attacking options capable of filling the void.

Eduardo Burgos reports that Arsenal have been monitoring Igor Jesus throughout the 2024/25 campaign. The Brazilian has impressed with his performances in Serie A, showcasing his versatility as both a center-forward and a winger.

Burgos elaborated on Arsenal’s interest via a post on X, stating: “Arsenal enter the race for Igor Jesus. The Gunners have kept their eye on the striker throughout the season. Informal chats, but nothing more. He is the alternative to other profiles such as Benjamin Šeško or Evan Ferguson.”
