Arsenal impressive start to the season has sparked optimism around the club, not just for the first team but also for the academy talents emerging from Hale End. While the Gunners’ senior squad boasts world-class quality, several academy players are making a strong case for the future. Ethan Nwaneri has been a standout performer, and Myles Lewis-Skelly has also caught Mikel Arteta’s eye.
However, with such depth and competition for places, some young talents may seek opportunities elsewhere to secure first-team football. According to German football journalist Dominik Schneider, one such player is academy striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, who is reportedly in talks with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 21-year-old forward has been in discussions with the German club since last week, with Gladbach offering him the chance to break into their first team immediately. Butler-Oyedeji’s contract with Arsenal is set to expire in February 2024, meaning he could be on his way out of North London within a few months.
