Just before NFL free agency kicked off, several high-profile players were taken off the market. Among them is former Las Vegas Raiders star Khalil Mack, who, at 34, has put together three strong seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. After the team released Joey Bosa, many speculated that they would prioritize keeping Mack—and that’s exactly what happened.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Mack has agreed to a one-year, fully guaranteed $18 million deal with the Chargers. It’s a significant payday for the former Defensive Player of the Year, who is likely taking his career one season at a time at this stage. While there was speculation he might retire after the 2024 season, he clearly still has plenty left in the tank.
