BREAKING: Former Florida State Linebacker Announces Major Career Move To The Georgia Bulldogs

Many former Florida State players have gone on to become coaches, but few can claim to be one of Georgia high school football’s youngest head coaches.

Former Florida State linebacker Kevon Glenn announced earlier this week that he was going home to become the head coach at his alma mater, Dutchtown High School. This will be his first position at the prep level.

Glenn worked as a player personnel analyst at Georgia Southern during the 2024 season. He transferred from the Seminoles to the Eagles and played for them for two years.

Dutchtown High School finished 7-5 last autumn and advanced to the playoffs for the ninth straight season. The program has had three head coaches in the last five years, so Glenn will have the opportunity to create his own.

Reflecting on Kevon Glenn’s Playing Career

Glenn committed to Florida State as a three-star talent in the 2019 class, selecting the Seminoles over Missouri. He played little at Tallahassee, redshirting as a true freshman before making three appearances in 2020, totaling one tackle. Part of that was due to being caught in a transition, as FSU fired Willie Taggart before Glenn’s first season ended and replaced him with Mike Norvell.

Glenn’s playing time declined in 2022, so he transferred to Connecticut for his final season of eligibility. In 2023, he appeared in eight games for the Huskies, recording four tackles.

During his scholastic career at Dutchtown High School, the Georgia native played linebacker and was named to the AJC all-state, all-region, and all-county teams. Glenn was named the GACA Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 after registering 95 tackles, assisting the Bulldogs to a 12-1 record and a quarterfinal participation.
