Marcus Rashford of Manchester United is urging individuals to utilize his platform to participate in Unicef’s Water Walk.
Expressing his astonishment, the 26-year-old emphasized the difficult choices faced by young children in certain regions of the world who must decide between attending school and ensuring their families have access to clean water. The forward for England is urging his supporters to generate funds to aid the over 2 billion individuals who lack access to clean and safe drinking water.
Unicef is organizing the Water Walk, a campaign that encourages individuals to walk five miles each day for a week in September. The aim is to raise awareness about the staggering number of nearly 260 million people who have to travel for over 30 minutes every day just to obtain safe water.
“It is truly astonishing that millions of individuals worldwide have to embark on long walks solely to access clean water,” Marcus stated. On a football field, Marcus can cover a distance of five miles in approximately seventy-five minutes.
We frequently take for granted the convenience of being able to stroll to the kitchen anytime we’d like and have a fresh glass of water, but regrettably, not everyone enjoys that privilege.
“I want to use my platform to raise awareness of this, so I’m asking people to participate in Unicef UK’s Water Walk in order to help raise as much money as possible to support families in need of clean water and prevent young children from having to choose between attending school or playing with their friends.”
