Commit! Texas Tech lands 2026 four-star WR Chase Campbell

Texas Tech landed local star receiver Chase Campbell, who announced his commitment to the Red Raiders on Tuesday. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound receiver out of Wolfforth (TX) Frenship chose the Red Raiders over reported offers from Arkansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Boston College, Colorado State, Houston, Kansas State, Missouri, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas State, Utah, UTEP and Wisconsin.

The four-star recruit is rated as the No. 153 overall player in the nation, No. 20 receiver in the country, the No. 22 overall prospect in Texas for the 2026 class according to 247Sports.

The 247Sports Composite, an average of the major recruiting rankings services, rates Campbell slightly higher as a four-star recruit, the No. 136 overall prospect in the country, the No. 20 receiver in the nation and the No. 21 overall player in the Lone Star State.

Campbell racked up 82 receptions for 1,511 yards and 18 TDs on 18.4 yards per catch, plus 314 yards and six TDs on 8.3 yards per carry. He also completed 3 of 6 pass attempts for 97 yards and two TDs last season. Campbell tallied 87 catches for 1,428 yards and 17 TDs on 16.4 yards per grab as a sophomore in 2023.

Texas Tech has been on fire this month, picking up commitments from Composite four-star safety Donovan Webb, Composite four-star running back Ashton Rowden, five-star offensive lineman Felix Ojo on the Fourth of July and now Campbell today.

247Sports national recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks provided the following projection of Campbell’s potential at the next level:

Dynamic, highly productive receiver with a strong athletic profile that should bolster long-term potential.

Displays promising awareness of timing and speed-changing nuance as a route runner and with the ball in his hands.

Plays with above average acceleration and top-end speed. Junior year 22.25 200 points to long-speed juice.

Explosive, above-the-rim finisher on the basketball floor; will put it on your head in the open floor.

Not afraid to work the middle of the field.

Ball can get into his body at times in the short-to-intermediate passing game, but does show some encouraging vertical ball-tracking concentration.

Could provide effective return game and wildcat options.

May be a bit more raw as a pure receiver than seismic production suggests, but represents an electric athlete with a layered sporting background that should raise long-term developmental ceiling.

Projects to the high-major level as an eventual impact weapon with long-term pro potential.

Campbell is the 19th commit of Texas Tech’s 2026 class, joining quarterback Stephen Cannon, running back Ashton Rowden, receiver Imari Jehiel, offensive linemen Felix Ojo, Jacob Crow, and Jerald Mays, three-star edge rushers Tieson Ejiawoko and Demarcus Marks, three-star defensive linemen Ayden Johnson and Krush Johnson, three-star linebackers Cord Nolan and Kaegan Ash, along with three-star defensive backs Donovan Webb, S’Vioarean Martin, Aaron Bradshaw, Noah Lewis, Luke Bell, and Maddox Quiller. Texas Tech’s class is ranked 18th in the nation and first in the Big 12. The Red Raiders secured the No. 48 high school class and the No. 2 transfer class, achieving an overall national ranking of No. 22 in 2025.
