Victoria Beckham is opening up about her early romance with now-husband David Beckham, including one comical moment when the former soccer star had to do a walk of shame after spending the night with her while she was on tour with the Spice Girls.
“He fitted in so seamlessly, you know, with the other girls,” she said of her former bandmates Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm on the Oct. 22 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. “I remember being on tour, doing a show in Manchester, sneaking him into my room, and literally the following morning, David having to jump out the window and do the walk of shame.”
The fashion designer said the experience impacted David’s soccer practice the following day.
“[He had] to skip training because of the blisters on his feet because he literally has to do the walk of shame in his clothes from the night before,” Victoria recalled, laughing. “But he fitted in with the other girls and they loved him right away. And he’s so comfortable in his own skin.”

She said that her husband was never intimidated by her success, even when they began her romance when she was more famous.
“He’s always been so supportive of me,” she shared. “You know, when I was on tour, he’d be there and he’d be standing at the side of the stage watching. And, yeah, that was never he was never insecure about anything like that.”
As for rumor surrounding their marriage and relationship struggles, Victoria said that she and David have gotten through it all by standing by one another’s side.
“Do you know we’ve had so much thrown at us? And we were talking about it because we’ve recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary,” she mused. “And by the way, people said it wouldn’t work. Twenty six years. We’ve had so much so much thrown at us, and we’ve always just been there together and just ridden the storm, ridden the damn storm.”
Victoria and David tied the knot in 1999. They are parents to sons Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14.
“I love you Mrs Beckham for many reasons, for being my wife, for giving me 4 beautiful children, for making my vitamins each day & for bringing [your] story to life,” David wrote in an Instagram post on Oct. 9. “I’m very proud of the journey you have been on and continue to go on and to show people the struggles that helped get you here. You should be very proud.”
