David Beckham has shared a heartfelt message for his wife Victoria Beckham, thanking her for giving him “four beautiful children” — a public show of affection that comes as their ongoing rift with eldest son Brooklyn continues.
The 49-year-old football icon joined Victoria and their children Romeo, Cruz, and Harper at the London premiere of her new Netflix documentary this week, but Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz were notably absent.
During an emotional speech on stage, Victoria thanked her family — including Brooklyn — as well as her former Spice Girls bandmates. She said, “I’d like to thank Geri, Emma, Melanie and Melanie, I love you so much; my children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Harper, and David.” The crowd laughed when she accidentally included David in the list, prompting her to joke, “Oh my God, he’s not a child! I was doing so well without cards as well.”
Later that night, David posted a touching tribute on Instagram alongside a video of him dancing with Victoria to Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know at the afterparty. “I love you Mrs Beckham for many reasons,” he wrote. “For being my wife, for giving me four beautiful children, for making my vitamins each day and for bringing your story to life. I’m very proud of the journey you’ve been on and continue to go on. You should be very proud. And for the record, you can make a ham and cheese sandwich very well.”
Victoria replied emotionally, “I’m crying happy tears. I love you so much.”
In the new documentary, Brooklyn and Nicola appear only briefly — a five-second clip showing them arriving at Victoria’s 2024 Paris Fashion Week show, just before the family rift reportedly began. The fleeting moment serves as a reminder of how far apart the Beckhams have drifted, even as David and Victoria publicly celebrate their love and achievements together.
