Wolves tipped to battle West Ham for £25m striker who broke Serie A side’s transfer record

Wolves are in the market for some new signings over the coming weeks

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has made a positive impression since his move to England. He was picked as Gary O’Neil’s replacement during last season. The Portuguese head coach then managed to keep the Midlands outfit in the Premier League with relative ease.

The likes of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri have left over recent times. That means that Pereira’s side have some vacancies to fill in their squad. They have the chance to bring in reinforcements over the next couple of months.

According to Africa Foot, Wolves are keen on Atalanta attacker El Bilal Toure this summer. The report adds that the player is valued at around the £25million mark. Fellow English side West Ham are also interested, along with the likes of Como, Paris FC, Marseille, Villarreal and Galatasaray so he doesn’t appear to be short of options.

Toure, 23, signed for his current club back in 2023 and his future is up in the air right now. He was loaned out to Stuttgart in the last campaign for a change of scene. The forward made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga oufit and scored three goals.

The Mali international, who has 25 caps under his belt, was snapped up by Stade de Reims as a youngster in 2020. He broke into their first-team and found the net on nine occasions in 68 outings. The Ivory Coast-born man then had a spell at Almeria before Atalanta lured him to Italy.

Wolves could see Toure as someone to boost their attacking department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth up front. He would also offer them something different going forward.

He is still young and has potential to get better down the line. Pereira needs to replace the goals Cunha scored ahead of next term. Therefore, it is vital that they get their recruitment spot on

Pereira said in May: “It’s important to bring players that want to come, that want to live in Wolverhampton, that want to play in the best league of the world and that are family players, with the character and with the personality to work in a simple, but beautiful city.
