Kai Havertz’s knee injury will prevent him from playing in the UEFA Nations League, the German national team has stated. The forward for Arsenal, who has contributed significantly to the team’s strong Premier League start, has left Julian Nagelsmann’s starting lineup. Jonathan Burkardt of Mainz has been called up to play for Germany in their matches against the Netherlands and Bosnia & Herzegovina in his place.
Havertz, 25, has been a mainstay in Mikel Arteta’s squad, appearing in every Premier League match this year and netting four goals and dishing out one assist. Most recently, at the Emirates Stadium, he scored a crucial equaliser in Arsenal’s 2-1 comeback triumph over Southampton.
