A former New England Patriots quarterback will continue his career in football at his alma mater.
Penn State announced on Tuesday it hired Trace McSorley to be the next assistant quarterbacks coach. McSorley spent four seasons with the Nittany Lions from 2014-18 before he was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
McSorley had a brief stint with the Patriots when New England signed him to a one-year deal in April 2023.
The quarterback spent training camp and the preseason with New England as the third-string quarterback behind Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. He appeared in two of the Patriots’ three preseason games and went 1-of-4 for four yards and was sacked twice.
