Arsenal have started concrete talks to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The Gunners have stepped up their long-standing interest in the Slovenia international and are now in conversations to make him Mikel Arteta’s new first-choice number nine next season.
Romano claims Sesko has always been high on Arsenal’s recruitment list, and this is the third time the North London club have tried to sign the 21-year-old forward in the past 12 months.
Sesko, whose wage demands stand at £200,000 per week, penned a new four-year deal with Leipzig amid the Gunners’ interest last summer, but he is now expected to depart the Bundesliga club, with Arsenal pushing for his arrival once more.

Romano, writing on X, has revealed that Arsenal have started concrete talks for Sesko’s arrival once again, after targeting him in the January transfer window:
Sesko, praised for his ‘blistering pace’, enjoyed another strong season with RB Leipzig, scoring 21 goals and providing six assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
The ‘unstoppable’ attacker has always been among Arsenal’s options as a potential striker target, alongside Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres, who is expected to make a decision over his future in Portugal soon.
The Gunners are expected to bolster their frontline with new arrivals after injury-hit seasons for both Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, while they are also considering bringing in a new winger.
They are set to announce Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi as their first summer arrival, after agreeing to activate his €60m (£51m) release clause.
