Former Arsenal striker joins Folarin Balogun at AS Monaco the two old players reunite again

Former Arsenal academy striker Mika Biereth is on the verge of joining Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the 21-year-old has agreed to personal terms. The move is expected to be finalized later this month.

Biereth has been in sensational form since his permanent move to Sturm Graz last summer. The Danish striker scored 14 goals and registered five assists in 25 appearances across all competitions, justifying the Austrian club’s £4 million investment. His performances have now caught the attention of Monaco, who are reportedly keen to sign him as a replacement for the injured Folarin Balogun.

Romano shared the update on social media platform X, stating: “AS Monaco agree personal terms with Mika Biereth as the favoured option for the striker position! The 21-year-old wants Monaco. Talks underway between clubs with Sturm Graz to agree on the fee. Former #AFC striker has agreed to the move… Monaco are on it.”

Biereth’s career trajectory has been remarkable since leaving Arsenal, where he was a standout performer in the academy but never managed to break into Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad. After stints at Dutch club RKC Waalwijk and Motherwell, he found a new home in Austria, flourishing in the Austrian Bundesliga and making appearances in the Champions League.
