First photos of Harry Kane’s long-buried sеcrеt statue have emerged, four years after it was created.
The 2019 sculpture of the record-scoring player for Tottenham and England was commissioned by the Waltham Forest municipality.

The Big Issue magazine released a sequence of images featuring an immortalized Kane putting a ball on his knee and reclining on a bench in football gear under the slogan, “Waste of money or fitting tribute?”
Waltham Forest Council was unable to locate an appropriate place, thus the monument has been kept in storage.
For the sculpture of the football player who was raised in Chingford and signed a £104 million deal with Bayern Munich last summer, the council set aside £7,200.
However, supporters tend to think that yet another football player’s statue has been poorly made, despite the organizers’ best efforts.A supporter wrote: “Councils can spend s***loads of money on a fugly statue but not collect your bins.”
Someone more said: “They could melt it back down and use it to fill pоt holes and crumbling roads across the borough.”
“We need to just give up on statues,” a third person commented.
A fourth remarked, “What an ugly sculpture. What a waste of tax dollars.””The location of the statue is really important to us,” according to Kane’s representatives, who also stated in February that “we will be happy to go when we get it right.”
One of the council members who ordered the statue, Emma Best, admitted to spending “hours and hours” looking for a suitable place to place it to the BBC.
Proposed locations included Ridgeway Park, where Kane used to play as a child, and Chingford’s Rail Station and Overground Station.
However, once Transport for London conducted a rιsk assessment, the Overground site was turned down because of the possibility that rival football supporters would target it. The municipality told The Guardian: “The statue was paid for by a pоt of about £6,600 from a fund allocated to “local initiatives, projects or improvements” that councillors in each of the borough’s 22 wards share out.”
Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, expressed his hope that Kane would eventually have a statue outside the Spurs stadium.
In preparation for England’s friendly match against Brazil at Wembley on Saturday, he is now practicing in Burton with the team captained by Gareth Southgate.
Next month, when Bayern plays Arsenal in the Champions League quarterfinals, the 30-year-old is expected to spearhead the team’s оffensive effort..
