Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori were two absentees from our 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Wednesday after both going off with injuries against West Ham United.
The win over the Red Devils saw the return of Thomas Partey after he missed the match at the London Stadium but Mikel Merino remained sidelined at the Emirates.
Ahead of our fourth London derby of the season against Fulham, boss Mikel Arteta was quizzed about the fitness of his squad heading into the contest at Craven Cottage.
Arteta: “We want to be the kings of everything”
“We have a few, obviously it’s matchday-2 so we have to monitor a few players,” the boss told the press at Sobha Realty Traning Centre. “We have a training session tomorrow so we will see how everybody is for Sunday.”
Our Brazilian defender had netted in the 5-2 victory over West Ham with a trademark header from a set-piece before going off at half-time.
Riccardo played slightly longer than Gabi, making way on 56 minutes for Oleksandr Zinchenko in east London. However, with a training session remaining before our match against Fulham, Mikel is biding his time before making any fitness decisions.
He said: “Until we see tomorrow’s training session it’s very difficult to say something. Let’s see how they evolve in the next few days.”
