Rugby league star Liam Horne has delivered a heartfelt message to Castleford Tigers supporters after sealing a move to the Leigh Leopards.
A Fresh Start After a Strong Run at Castleford
The 27-year-old Papua New Guinea international has signed a three-year contract with Leigh, bringing his time with Castleford to an early close after being released from the final year of his deal.
Horne, known for his versatility as a centre and hooker, joined the Tigers midway through the 2023 season and quickly became one of their standout performers. His dynamic style and strong work ethic helped the team retain their Super League status, and in 2024, he was named Castleford’s Player of the Year — a clear reflection of his impact on and off the field.
A Touching Message to the Fans
Taking to social media, Horne expressed deep gratitude toward the club and its supporters, calling his time at Castleford a dream come true.
He wrote:
“Thank you Castleford for giving me an opportunity to live out my childhood dream and to all the fans who have supported me from day one. I am sad to leave you guys but also excited for my new journey. I’ll miss you guys.”
His farewell struck a chord with fans, many of whom praised him for his professionalism and dedication throughout his time with the Tigers.
Looking Ahead to a New Chapter
As Horne begins his next chapter with Leigh, he leaves behind a strong legacy at Castleford — one built on hard work, humility, and respect. While the Tigers will need to fill the void left by one of their most consistent players, the move gives Horne a new challenge and a chance to continue building his Super League career with the Leopards.
