Mavericks’ Anthony Davis sends out cryptic ‘they never see that part’ message

After yet another injury-riddled campaign, fans are fervently hoping that Anthony Daviscan stay healthy to lead the Dallas Mavericksback to the NBA Finals.

Davis only played nine games for the Mavericks last season following the league-altering midseason trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. In his debut for Dallas, he strained his left adductor, which sidelined him for 18 games.

With Kyrie Irving out for an extended period with a torn ACL, Davis will have to carry the cudgels for the Mavericks. Aside from the physical toll, the 10-time All-Star will have to remain mentally tough to embrace the role of leader.

However, it looks like Davis is already dealing with some emotional stress ahead of training camp. He posted an Instagram Story, which many would view as cryptic.

“I broke bread at times when I could’ve just fed myself. They never see that part,” read the message.

Dirk Nowitzki
Michael Jordan
Kobe Bryant
Kevin Durant

It’s hard to speculate what the 32-year-old Davis is talking about. Is it personal? Or does it have something to do with the Mavericks? Or even the Lakers? Davis has always been the silent type. He rarely shares about his life, unlike other stars.

It is not the first time that Davis posted something cryptic since he was traded to the Mavericks. In August, fans grew concerned after he posted an Instagram Story of a sad emoji and a prayer emoji over a black background.

Whatever he is going through these days, he still has a job to do. Dallas will open training camp a few days from now, and Davis is expected to show up. He underwent a procedure to repair a detached retina in July.

Last season, he averaged 24.7 points on 51.6% shooting, 11.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.2 blocks.

He will lead the charge for the Mavericks, along with PJ Washington, Klay Thompson, D’Angelo Russell, and Cooper Flagg.
