The NFL offseason kicked off after the finale of a Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
As the attention turns toward NFL free agency as well as the upcoming draft, a few players around the league have announced their official retirement from the league.
Following the conclusion of the 2024 season, Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Zack Martin announced his retirement after playing 11 years in the NFL.
Martin’s retirement decision sparked reactions from players across the league, including star edge rusher Maxx Crosby.
“Ultimate Competitor,” Crosby said. “Loved Going To War Against You, First Ballot HOF. Enjoy Retirement Brother.”
Martin retired as one of the best offensive linemen in history, finishing his 11-year career as a seven-time All-Pro and nine-time Pro Bowler.
The Cowboys legend was previously named to the 2010s Hall of Fame team.
Crosby recently capped off his sixth year in the NFL. The Raiders defensive end has established himself as one of the best defensive players in the league, having been named a Pro Bowler in each of the last four seasons.
During the 2024 season, Crosby posted five pass deflections, 7.5 sacks and 45 tackles in 12 games. Crosby’s season ended short due to ankle injury.
