Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli is set to undergo a scan on Friday to assess the severity of a suspected hamstring injury sustained during the Gunners’ 2-0 Carabao Cup semi-final defeat against Newcastle United.
The Brazilian was forced off late in the first half on Wednesday night, adding to Arsenal’s growing injury concerns. His withdrawal leaves Mikel Arteta with limited attacking options, as Bukayo Saka remains sidelined with a hamstring issue, and Gabriel Jesus continues his recovery from an ACL injury suffered in January.
Speaking after the match, Arteta confirmed the 22-year-old’s discomfort and the need for further assessment.
