The NFL offseason is starting to heat up and the Green Bay Packers are going to be one of the top teams to keep an eye on.
After coming up short in the Wild Card round of the playoffs to the eventual Super Bowl winning Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers have more work to do. They are not far off from being a Super Bowl favorite, but they could use a few upgrades.
One popular area being talked about as a potential need for Green Bay is the wide receiver position.
Jordan Love is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. However, he has yet to have a true No. 1 wideout throughout his career to this point.
That could very well change this offseason. Already, the Packers have been linked to a few big names.
A new projection has been made by Henry McKenna of FOX Sports that would bring in a top-tier wide receiver via free agency. He has Green Bay landing Stefon Diggs, who is coming off of a torn ACL that he suffered in 2024 with the Houston Texans.
“Diggs’ days as a WR1 are likely over — man, that happened fast, didn’t it? — but in the Packers offense, he could put together a respectable 1,000-yard season,” McKenna wrote. “He’d also bring some veteran consistency to a receivers group that needs exactly that.”
In the eight games that he played with the Texans before tearing his ACL, Diggs caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns.
As McKenna mentioned, Diggs may no longer be an elite star. That being said, Diggs still could end up being the top wideout for the Packers if they were to sign him.
Diggs could be the difference maker and go-to target that Love has needed.
Expect to continue hearing a lot of rumors come out about Green Bay and their potential offseason plans. The Packers could target Diggs, although there are a lot of other routes they could choose to go as well.
