Crystal Palace have approached Leicester City to discuss a possible deal for forward Bilal El Khannouss, as they look for a replacement for Eberechi Eze, who is nearing a move to Tottenham.
Sky Sports News has been told the deal being mooted could be worth in the region of £30m plus add-ons for the Leicester forward.
Leicester are prepared to do a deal for the 21-year-old as they need further sales to meet their PSR obligations, and to give new manager Marti Cifuentes funds to strengthen their push for Championship promotion.
However, El Khannouss is not Palace’s only option at number 10.
They remain interested in Christos Tzolis at Club Brugge, who Palace are prepared to pay £26m (€30m) for.
But the Belgian club want more, if they are to consider selling a player who signed a new four-year deal last month.
Brugge are currently in Glasgow, preparing to play Rangers in the Champions League qualifier tonight, and even though Tzolis is included in Brugge’s UEFA matchday squad, it is not yet clear if he will feature.
Negotiations between Palace and Spurs continue over a deal for Eze, but Palace want to line up a replacement before they sanction his sale.
