With Real Madrid set to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG in the summer as a free agent, there have been fleeting rumours that the Parisians might be planning a revenge mission on the Merengues.

Indeed, it has been rumoured that PSG might look to launch a move for Real Madrid’s attacking superstar Vinicius Jr. in the summer.

It was suggested that the Ligue 1 champions would be prepared to shell out as much as €200 million to sign the Brazilian international.

Nothing to PSG interest rumours

However, transfer news expert Ben Jacobs via Caught Offside, has provided an update on the matter, stating that PSG are not looking to sign Vinicius Jr. from Real Madrid.

“Vini Jr is not a name PSG are looking at, despite some rumours about what Mbappe’s arrival in Madrid could mean for his place in the team,” Jacobs stated.

“I expect him to stay at Real. If he ever became available on the market it might be a different story, but PSG know they are wasting their time trying for this summer.”

Despite all the rumblings about how Mbappe’s arrival might impact Real Madrid’s attacking department and Vinicius in particular, there are no plans for him to leave Real Madrid.

The Merengues handed the 23-year-old attacker a new contract only last year and are further considering offering another new deal until the summer of 2029, with wages on par with Mbappe’s.

As such, PSG are aware that it would be futile to pursue the Real Madrid superstar this summer and are not looking to make a move at this point.
