Carlo Ancelotti is a manager who Real Madrid players don’t want to upset. Not because he is an infuriating presence but more because he has been at the top of the managerial game for many years so he is someone they wish to impress, rather than disappoint.
One player who has done everything except disappoint this season is Jude Bellingham. Signing from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, he has emerged into one of the best players in the world and certainly a crucial figure in Real Madrid’s season.
However, in the last few matches, Jude Bellingham’s tempo has slowed down a little. This is to be expected, since even the very best of players have quieter periods from time to time. However, for Real Madrid, this has become a concern since they are approaching the most important period of the season and will soon reach the finish line.
Real Madrid become concerned about the form of Jude Bellingham
According to Spanish outlet Sport, there is concern growing at Real Madrid over the form of their star player Jude Bellingham. It is believed that the concern was growing for a little time but it was realised in Real Madrid’s Champions League quarterfinal opening leg against Manchester City, as Bellingham was one of the quieter players in the match despite playing in an advanced position.
In my opinion, this concern is nothing to worry about and it is more than likely just a precautionary measure taken by Real Madrid. After all, they are the best club in the world with the best players in the world which doesn’t come easy. Therefore, Carlo Ancelotti has to closely micro-manage his players, hence the emphasis on Jude Bellingham’s form of late.
Bellingham will soon spring back into life as he is more than likely fatigued, given his role in the starting lineup on a weekly basis. It is nothing he isn’t used to, of course, having played in the gruelling English league schedule, which is one of the busiest and closely-packed schedules in world football.
Real Madrid play against Mallorca in La Liga this evening. Needless to say, Jude Bellingham is always predicted to start in every match given how important he is to the team, however, Ancelotti may see this as a rest period for Bellingham. After all, having him fully refreshed for the Etihad Stadium clash in midweek is not a bad call.
