As confirmed by both Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook, the East Midlands outfit looks set to sack Van Nistelrooy. The reports expect the club to announce the exit on July 1, which is not only the birthday of the Dutchman, but also the start of a new financial year.

This is important as they look to avoid dismissing two coaches in the same financial year, after Steve Cooper’s exit.
Crook also notes that sources close to the club deny that Sean Dyche is being lined up as a replacement. This follows on from owner Khun Top’s thoughts on the new coach this past week, where Rob Tanner reveals that he would like someone with a similar playing style to Enzo Maresca.
