After nearly two years of having a relatively smooth relationship, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are reportedly experiencing their first big bump in the road.
A new report from RadarOnline suggests things have been tough for the couple to navigate following the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
Swift was booed loudly at the Superdome after being shown on the Jumbotron, and Kelce reportedly felt hopeless as he watched it happen but couldn’t do anything about from the field.
Multiple reports indicate that moment made Swift feel villainized, which has those closest to the 14-time Grammy winner concerned now about her public perception because her relationship with Kelce.
Because of the public backlash Swift received during the Super Bowl, her and Kelce’s inner circles have recommended that they keep their relationship out of the public eye for a while as they resolve the “tension” that has allegedly surfaced between them.
“The vibe seems to be shifting, and insiders suggest both stars might need to safeguard their brands,” RadarOnline reported. “… Now, her team’s advising her to lay low for a while, and it’s got to sting a bit, like a sense of guilt she hasn’t earned. This whole situation is creating a weird tension between her and Travis, especially since this is their first real bump in the road.
“Until now, it’s been nothing but good times. You can only imagine the awkward discussions happening behind the scenes about when it’s appropriate for them to be seen together and how they’re supposed to act. Definitely not the romantic vibe they were hoping for.”
Following Kansas City’s Super Bowl loss, Kelce and Swift “reconnected” during a vacation outside of the U.S.
The couple also reportedly went on a “low-key” date night on Friday after returning stateside. It’s not known where they went, but a source confirmed to Page Six that they were both glad to enjoy a night out on the town “unnoticed.”
