Born in São Gonçalo, Brazil, Vinicius Junior began his football career with Flamengo. He made his senior debut in 2017 for Flamengo, just before a big move to Spanish giants Real Madrid. Vini scored his first professional goal on August 10, 2017, in Flamingo’s 5-0 victory over Palestino in the return leg of the second round of the Copa Sudamericana. He scored the goal 30 seconds after being substituted in the 72nd minute.
