Victoria Beckham is defending her kids — and other celebrity’s kids — against the nepo baby label.
In an interview with The Sun published on Friday, Oct. 10, the fashion designer and Spice Girl, 51, spoke about her son Cruz, 20, who is pursuing a music career. Victoria, who shares her four kids with husband David Beckham, said that she’s “so proud of him.”
However, when the interviewer suggested that Cruz is “not a traditional nepo-baby,” Victoria pushed back and explained that it’s not the kids’ fault they’re in their positions. “I mean, I feel sorry for these kids that are considered nepo babies,” she said. “The kids are simply the kids of their parents. It’s not their fault. Give them a chance.”

“What matters is that people are good and kind,” Victoria continued. “It’s fine to be ambitious, but it is more important to be kind. Let the music speak for itself before you judge.”
Alongside Cruz, David and Victoria are parents to daughter Harper, 14, and sons Brooklyn, 26, and Romeo, 23.
Earlier this September, the famous couple shared videos and pictures from their son Romeo’s 23rd birthday celebration. In one clip on Victoria’s Instagram Stories, the family could be heard singing “Happy Birthday” to him, as his brother Cruz brought out his cake. Over the video, the proud mom wrote, “Happy Birthday Romeo!!! We love you so much!!!”

To commemorate his son’s birthday, David also shared a picture of Romeo on his Instagram Stories. One snap was taken from their family outing, showing the 23-year-old sitting with a smirk on his face after blowing out the candles of his cake. Over the photo, he wrote “Birthday Boy” in pink letters.
David also shared a throwback snap of him and his son sitting court side at a Los Angeles Lakers game. In the photo, the father-son duo looked at each other with grins on their face. “My Boy,” he wrote over the photo, followed by a yellow heart.
At the premiere of the Netflix docuseries Victoria Beckham at the Curzon Mayfair in London on Oct. 8, the retired soccer star penned a special caption about his wife and their family while sharing a sweet video of the couple dancing. “I love you Mrs Beckham for many reasons , for being my wife , for giving me 4 beautiful children , for making my vitamins each day & for bringing you’re story to life,” David began.
He went on to tell his wife he’s “very proud of the journey” she’s been on, “and continue to go on and to show people the struggles that helped get you here,” he wrote. “You should be very proud 🩷 And for the record you can make a Ham&Cheese sandwich very well 🫣 We love you x @victoriabeckham,” David concluded.
Victoria loved the post, writing in the comments, “I’m crying happy tears ❤️ I love you so much x.”
