Victoria Beckham showed grace and maternal warmth at the Netflix premiere of her new documentary, publicly thanking her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, despite his absence from the event — and amid their ongoing family rift.
The 51-year-old fashion designer arrived hand-in-hand with husband David Beckham at London’s Curzon Mayfair cinema, joined by their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, along with close friends including Eva Longoria, Richard E Grant and her former Spice Girls bandmates. But one notable absence cast a shadow over the glamorous evening — Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, chose not to attend.
Still, Victoria made a heartfelt gesture on stage as she expressed gratitude to all her loved ones, saying: “I’d like to thank the Spice Girls, Geri, Emma, Melanie and Melanie — I love you so much — and my children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Harper and David.” When the audience laughed as she accidentally listed David among her children, she blushed, joking: “Oh my God, he’s not a child! I was doing so well without cards as well.”
Her words carried emotional weight, especially given the strained relationship with Brooklyn. In the three-part Netflix series, Brooklyn and Nicola appear for barely five seconds in a brief clip from Paris Fashion Week 2024 — just before the family feud began.
A TV insider revealed: “He’s included in the series so there’s no question of him being left out, but it’s such a short cameo that some viewers might miss it. Victoria wasn’t in charge of the edit — she gave up creative control — but maybe that’s her way of keeping him involved, of reaching out again.”
The new documentary, which premieres tomorrow, chronicles Victoria’s evolution from teenage dreamer to global fashion powerhouse, capturing her most defining runway moment in Paris. But beneath the success lies an unmistakable ache — a mother still hoping her family will one day feel whole again.
