We are DOOM 😞 The Premier League will released a bombshell statement on Monday, with a four-year investigation meanwhile Arsenal will be credited

Tuesday’s back pages look at Manchester City’s charges and Leeds United’s dismissal of Jesse Marsch. The Premier League released a bombshell statement on Monday, with a four-year investigation finding more than 100 alleged breaches, though City have said they are “surprised” and “look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all”. Meanwhile, Leeds are considering West Brom’s boss

City have been referred to an independent commission over the charges, with the reigning league champions admitting they are “surprised” by the developments, adding: “The club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position. As such we look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.”

Unsurprisingly, several back pages across the British press focused heavily on this story, with the Daily Mail and Telegraph leading on the prospect of City’s expulsion from the Premier League – which is just one possible sanction if City are found guilty.
